The shipyard was founded in 1961, in Fano, with ARTEMIO BUGARI, a highly skilled craftsman and unsurpassed welding master. The Bugari shipyard began its activity in May 1961. Its founder, Mr. Artemio Bugari was born in Ancona and it was there that he gained his experience at the shipyards of the city.
In 1961 he moved to Fano where he began his business by building yachts in steel, aluminum and fiberglass from 10 to 40 meters under sail and motor. The shipyard’s activity continued under the banner of technological renewal, but always respecting the naval tradition.
After the death of the founder, the business was carried on by his sons, who had been collaborating with their father for years in the management of the construction site; after ups and downs also due to the crisis that hit the sector in the years 2008-2009, the business has always evolved in the field of shipbuilding and refitting through his son Andrea, who continues to keep the brand high.In 2004 he was taken over, in bankruptcy proceedings, by the DOMINATOR group which began producing fiberglass planing boats. In turn in difficulty in 2010 he was taken over by an Austrian group led by AUGUST PERNSTEINER.
The sons of the founder ANDREA BUGARI and ARNALDO BUGARI, after a period of freelance as designers and experts with separate activities, returned to direct the BUGARI YACHTS shipyard refounded in 2015 by AUGUST PERNSTEINER
