One of the stand-out new yachts in the sub-50-metre size range at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show was undoubtedly the Extra 130 L.A.U.L. by Extra Yachts. With her innovative layout and design philosophy and the rethinking of how yachts in this size range can be used, makes her yacht worth a closer look
Launched in Ancona at the Palumbo shipyard just ahead of the Monaco Yacht Show, this 40-metre flagship model in the Extra Yachts lineup is built entirely from aluminium that assists in the efficiency of the vessel and adds to the spacious 390 GT volume that is available as interior spaces onboard. The same free-flowing atmosphere that makes navigating her exterior decks a pleasure has been incorporated into the interior design and layout for an uncluttered and open arrangement that suits the beach-house style of L.A.U.L. so well. Designed inside and out by Francesco Guida, the Extra 130’s naval architecture is a collaboration between Studio Rogantin and Palumbo Superyachts’ technical office.
The upper aft deck is finished with an outdoor dining and lounge area and connects to the spacious foredeck sun lounge and jacuzzi via two side walkways that wrap around the superstructure on either side
The swim platform seamless leads into the main deck aft that brings the water’s edge even closer to those relaxing on the outdoor lounge in this part of the yacht. The grand aft staircase opens up to reveal the yacht’s 5.4-metre tender and jet ski for a fun day on the water.
